Jiri Prochazka continued getting the big wins and got another one against Dominick Reyes with a vicious spinning elbow KO
Dominick Reyes was hoping to get back to winning ways in the latest UFC event but came up against a brick wall in Jiri Prochazka.
Reyes was on a two-fight losing streak and could have been the UFC Light Heavyweight champion in the past. However, it was Prochazka that came out on top thanks to a crazy spinning elbow.
Prochazka and Reyes traded several blows in the first round but the second was where the damage happened. The 28-year-old won his second UFC fight in brutal fashion and is now set for a title shot.
Reyes was sent to sleep right after the elbow and he needed some medical attention but was conscious after the KO.
The former contender also could have suffered a broken nose in this fight and he was bleeding excessively from the area.
The Czech star is now 28-3-1 in his MMA career and has not lost a fight in 12 outings. He is a scary proposition and was asked if he was ready for the next shot at the gold even though Dana White confirmed that this was a contender’s fight.
Prochazka only replied with a yes and it seems he will provide the UFC with more fireworks in the division. The 28-year-old was contacted by the UFC to join up previously but he declined that as he didn’t think he was ready to fight the big boys.
Jan Blachowicz is the current champion and faces Glover Teixeira in his second title defence. Blachowicz defeated Israel Adesanya in impressive fashion last time around and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top when he faces Teixeira.
