Drew McIntyre believes Khabib Nurmagomedov would be a great addition to WWE
Khabib Nurmagomedov officially announced his retirement from MMA earlier this month. The announcement came after discussions with UFC president, Dana White.
The Russian went 29-0-0 in a 12-year-long UFC career and called it quits in October 2020 when he beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.
There was hope that ‘The Eagle’ would return and many even thought he could be placed against Georges St-Pierre, who is also retired.
But all of that proved to be nothing more than dreams of a fantasy fight. And now, while Khabib is training and coaching his teammates, there is no doubt that he would have more time on his hands.
He was at Islam Makhachev’s corner at UFC 259 when he beat Drew Dober. But you would think that a part of the 32-year-old misses being in the action himself.
Khabib stated that MMA is a brutal sport at times which is why he likes football. So if MMA is off the table, then WWE is one possible option for him to make noise before he gets off the stage once and for all.
And this is what former WWE champion, Drew McIntyre, told TMZ Sports as well. He even stated that Khabib is so talented that he doesn’t even have to do the talking himself; Someone like Paul Heyman or MVP could do that for him.
“He’s so talented that I reckon he can make some. And if he can’t make the noise himself, then we’ve got Paul Heyman. We’ve got a few talented people that can carry the load when it comes to talking. MVP has done a heck of a job for Lashley. Maybe that’s another name to throw in the hat…”
Heyman currently manages Roman Reigns while MVP has been the mouthpiece for Hurt Business superstar, Bobby Lashley.
McIntyre even commented about the possibility of seeing Conor McGregor in WWE. Khabib vs McGregor 2 inside the WWE ring? Just imagine…
