Dustin Poirier brought up his family in his latest tweet
Poirier has been actively training for his upcoming trilogy bout against Conor McGregor at UFC 264.
This fight has so much at stake as the winner will get to fight Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title and also get to settle the scores in the rivalry.
The fight is set to take place on the 10th of July in front of a full house in Las Vegas.
Now, Poirier is known for being a family man. He is married to Jolie Poirier, with whom he has a daughter named Parker Noelle Poirier.
Poirier loves his family, and he is often seen posting about his daughter from time to time. There is a reason why he is known as ‘Parker’s dad.’
More recently, he took to Twitter to share a photo of his daughter Parker and wife Jolie having a fun time.
Poirier mentioned that all his fights were for his family with their “worth more than silver and gold.”
“What I’m fighting for Is worth more than silver and gold.”
Charles Oliveira is currently the holder of the lightweight belt. He will soon be facing either Dustin Poirier or Conor McGregor.
Retired UFC lightweight GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke to RT Sport in an interview and explained that Poirier would soon become the lightweight champion.
Here is what Khabib had to say when asked if Oliveira would remain the champion when Islam Makhachev becomes a top-ranked lightweight:
“I just think when Islam goes up the rankings after a year there’ll be another champion. I think it will be Dustin Poirier.”
Well, Poirier needs to stich just two more back-to-back victories to make Khabib’s words come true.
