Dustin Poirier remembers to check in on his fans with this important health tip even when vacationing in Mexico
UFC lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier seems to be having a great time in Cancun, Mexico. But he remembered to share one important health tip with his fans.
In a video where he is on a beach in Mexico, Poirier asked everyone to stay hydrated, a phrase closely associated with him.
While it may have started as a genuine tip, it is becoming some sort of an inside joke with him and his fans now.
Poirier must be enjoying this vacation a little more on the back of a big victory in his last fight. The former Champ has rocketed to greater heights after UFC 257.
‘The Diamond’ beat Conor McGregor via a second-round TKO and has been the centre of attention since.
He was even endorsed by Khabib Nurmagomedov who said he was okay with the American running the 155 weight class.
What awaits Dustin Poirier when he returns from Mexico
Poirier is all set to have a trilogy fight with McGregor. The Irishman pushed for another rematch after his January loss and got his wish pretty quickly.
The date of the fight, expected to be in the summer later this year, has not been announced yet.
But two things look certain. One, the fight will happen. And two, it won’t be for the lightweight title, which is currently held by ‘The Eagle’.
Dana White has said that a lot of fights have to ‘play out’ in the division to have two lightweight fighters brawl for UFC gold.
The winner of McGregor vs Poirier 3 could then take on the winner of another such fight which probably sees two of Michael Chandler, Charles Oliveira, or Justin Gaethje in action.
But that is just wishful thinking at this point; and after all, we all know that Khabib’s decision to either retire or return will play a big role in any such title conversation.
Oh and before we forget, you need to drink 3 litres of water daily. So stay hydrated and stay tuned to our website to know more about what goes down in the 155 weight class.
