Khabib Nurmagomedov struggled a bit at the UFC 254 weigh-in with some suggesting he missed the weight

Khabib Nurmagomedov looked extremely relieved after just about making weight at the UFC 254 weigh-in.

The scales told a story too as it seemed to be going up but Khabib made weight, according to the officials.

The Russian has one of his toughest clashes at UFC 254 against Justin Gaethje, and many believed there was some controversy over the weights.

It would be a bit of a disaster for the UFC if Khabib missed weight for the main event. The UFC has been building it up for a while and even changed the time slots for the event to suit Khabib’s fans.

Dustin Poirier, who lost to Khabib a while back, was also asked about the weigh-in controversy. The Diamond didn’t say much but used a hilarious GIF about the possibility of Khabib missing weight.

Pressure getting to Khabib?

Dustin and Khabib have a lot of respect for each other and he might not have wanted to offend the Russian.

However, Khabib looked a little tense stepping onto the scale and the look of relief on his face said it all. The weight cut could have been a bit of a problem for him as many UFC stars have struggled over this.

There is also a lot of emotional baggage that Khabib is carrying as this is the first fight after the passing away of his father.

Khabib is also 28-0 and is keen on finishing his career undefeated. The Russian is one of the best in the world and it will be interesting to see how he does against Gaethje.

Gaethje, for his part, has only lost two fights in his career and last beat Tony Ferguson comprehensively.

The American has a great wrestling background and that should come into play at UFC 254.
