Dustin Poirier was at his humorous best as he took the hot sauce challenge
UFC lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier is in the hot sauce business himself. The Poirier’s Louisiana Style Hot Sauce is a hit itself.
But this time, The Diamond’s taste buds were put to the challenge as he took the hot sauce challenge on First We Feast’s show Hot Ones.
At the end of the segment, Poirier was asked by the host to compare different types of hot sauce to UFC fighters. He was asked to taste the sauces and name the first UFC fighter that comes to mind.
He saved the best one for the last. When asked to compare the Last Dab Apollo hot sauce to an MMA fighter, the former lightweight champion said that it resembled Conor McGregor.
It is the only hot sauce in the world to be made out of Apollo pepper, and is one of the hottest sauce in the world.
Poirier said that like McGregor, all it takes is a drop of the sauce to land the knockout blow.
“Last Dab Apollo, let’s go with Conor McGregor. This is that one-hitter-quitter. All you need is one drop.”
Of course, Poirier compared some other stars to different kinds of hot sauces. However, the big talking point was his comparison with the Irishman.
Dustin Poirier could be fighting Conor McGregor again
His comments come after the two fought it out at UFC 257 in one of the most anticipated lightweight bouts in recent UFC history.
After the fight, McGregor stated his wish to complete a trilogy of fights with Poirier. The two had, of course, fought earlier in 2014 at UFC 178.
The Diamond took to his Twitter account earlier this week to confirm that he is interested in a third fight as well.
If the fight does go ahead, Poirier would be hoping that he is not at the end of that one drop of Last Dab Apollo hot sauce that McGregor is capable of dishing out with his right fist whenever he wants.
