Justin Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson will finally happen at UFC 249

UFC 249 will finally see the light of day on 9 May as Justin Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson is the main event.

A lot has happened from the original Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Ferguson fight initially set up for UFC 249.

Dustin Poirier is one of the top fighters in the UFC (UFC)

This clash between Ferguson and Gaethje is for the interim UFC Lightweight title since Khabib is the current champion.

Many have already spoken about how big this fight could be, and another UFC star shared his prediction.

Dustin Poirier held the interim Lightweight title before being defeated by Khabib at UFC 242. The 31-year-old has a 25-6-1 record in the UFC and believes it will be Gaethje who comes out on top.

Poirier was answering several questions on Twitter and was asked by a fan for his prediction:

It seems that Poirier had backed Gaethje in the past and wasn’t changing his prediction for the clash.

Excited for UFC 249 card

Poirier also mentioned that he was looking forward to the UFC 249 fight card.

Amanda Nunes was to fight at UFC 249 but that has been changed and she won’t be defending her title. Nevertheless, there is a lot of action set for UFC 249 and it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Gaethje vs Ferguson should be an epic brawl, and hopefully, UFC 249 isn’t postponed again.
