Dustin Poirier made the weight during the UFC 257 weigh in but there was some concern over him

UFC 257 is going ahead with Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor making weight during the weigh in.

This is a rematch from a few years back and it will be interesting to see how things take place. Poirier lost the earlier clash but he seems to be ready to take his revenge on McGregor.

However, there was some concern regarding Poirier as he didn’t look all that great during the weigh ins.

Poirier topped the scales at 156 pounds but some fans were concerned regarding the former interim Lightweight champion.

However, Poirier was quick to explain why he looked a little out of touch and claimed it was because he was still a little heated up:

Many MMA stars are in saunas right until the weigh ins and this is one problem that they have to face.

Poirier also added that he was taking in a ton of liquids to hydrate himself ahead of the fight:

A cracking first PPV of the year

Poirier vs McGregor should be amazing but there was a lot of respect between the two stars during the press conference.

However, all that could change when the pair meet in the Octagon. The winner of this clash should get a title shot and it will be interesting to see how this battle goes.

McGregor looks to be in excellent shape and has never looked this hungry. Poirier, for his part, has evolved and grown over the years and should provide a stern test for the Irishman.

UFC 257 also has a huge co-main event with Michael Chandler making his UFC debut against Kiwi star Dan Hooker.
