Dustin Poirier has received the ‘Sleepy Conor McGregor’ chain from Jake Paul
Conor McGregor became a victim of trolls following his second straight defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The Irishman had his ankle broken towards the end of the first round against Poirier, which resulted in the fight being awarded to the ‘Diamond’.
YouTube sensation Jake Paul was quick to pounce on McGregor’s loss, as he got himself a custom made chain worth $100,000 which had a Sleepy Conor McGregor (knocked out cold McGregor following UFC 257), as the pendant.
Paul then promised to get it delivered to Poirier, since he felt that the number one ranked lightweight contender deserved it.
He did so as promised, and now, the chain has finally reached Poirier. Poirier confirmed the same, rocking the Sleepy McGregor chain.
Poirier also stated that he would be auctioning it off for his charity- The Good Fight Foundation.
“Got the sleepy mac chain today from @jakepaul I will be auctioning it off soon for @TheGoodFightFDN To do something big in Lafayette!!”
Paul then cheekily replied, alluding to McGregor’s broken ankle at UFC 264 – “Don’t forget to snap the ankle.”
Jake Paul ready too fulfill “Conor McGregor’s fake promises”
The bad blood between McGregor and Poirier began when McGregor didn’t go ahead with the charity donation as promised (worth $500,000).
Referencing that, Paul had an idea in mind, as he asked Poirier to get the chain auctioned for $500,000 so that ‘McGregor’s fake promises are fulfilled.’
Paul wrote:
“Let’s get this thing auctioned for $500k so we actually fulfill Mcgregor’s fake promises.”
