Dustin Poirier still isn’t over the Conor McGregor KO and seems keen on the trilogy

UFC 257 still seems to be on the mind of Dustin Poirier and he isn’t letting people forget his KO of Conor McGregor.

The Diamond picked up an impressive win over his rival and made the scores 1-1. However, the main talking point from this clash was McGregor getting knocked out, well knocked down.

This was the first time McGregor had been defeated in this manner, and this also bucked many predictions for UFC 257.

Poirier has been brought up by many for a Lightweight title shot but the Diamond has other plans. Immediately after the fight, McGregor was speaking of a trilogy and Poirier seemed keen on the trilogy.

Dana White also confirmed that the fight could take place in the summer. And Poirier is ensuring that people do not forget about his win.

The Diamond has posted several times about the McGregor KO and did so again on Twitter. This came after a tweet from a fan that brought up McGregor getting knocked down by Poirier and The Diamond just had one word to say:

Poirier is one of the best in the Lightweight division but saying that the KO is overlooked is stretching it.

This has been one of the biggest events in the UFC this year and many are still discussing it. However, this could be a reminder of how good his striking skills are and Poirier certainly proved that at UFC 257.

Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor trilogy will be a different fight

The scores are tied at 1-1 and it is to be seen if this clash will be for a title or not. Poirier vs McGregor 3 should be a slam dunk and The Diamond posted another picture on his Instagram stories from the weigh-ins it seems.

However, the third fight should be much different to the second one. For one, Poirier’s calf kicks could be dealt with by McGregor.

The Irishman has hinted at working on this facet of his game. Poirier too joked that he would headbutt McGregor but that’s an illegal move.

McGregor vs Poirier 3 can’t come soon enough and hopefully, White confirms the date when the pair meet.
