Dustin Poirier auctioned off his UFC 257 fight kit for a huge amount in a bid to aid the Good Fight Foundation
According to MMA Fighting, UFC lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier has auctioned off his UFC 257 fight kit for a massive $26,200.
It has become a tradition for him to do these after his fights in the last few months. Poirier unsurprisingly received 49 bids on the item.
The kit featured the whole package, from shorts, to even the hand-wraps worn by the former UFC lightweight champion.
He wore the kit to defeat Conor McGregor at UFC 257 via TKO in round 2. And for the buyer, it’s an added bonus that the money would be put to good use by Poirier’s charity.
All the amount would go straight to the Good Fight Foundation, which is a charity started by the American, alongside his wife.
The foundation aims to help those in need, whether they’re in Africa, or in Louisiana. It has championed causes such as building water wells in Uganda, and buying school supplies for Children who could not afford it.
It is wonderful to see ‘The Diamond’ working so diligently to make a difference. This noble cause also received a generous donation from Poirier’s opponent at UFC 257.
The Notorious One donated a $500,00 check to the Good Fight Foundation before their fight.
Dustin Poirier is exceeding outside and inside the octagon. He is probably the favourite to receive a shot at the UFC lightweight belt, provided it arrives in his next fight.
But more importantly, he is translating that success outside the cage as him and his wife, through their foundation, selflessly work to make the world a better place.
