Tony Ferguson seems to have suffered the wrath of Dana White after backing Dustin Poirier

Dana White confirmed that Tony Ferguson was not fighting at UFC 254, and that could have been a fall out from his support for Dustin Poirier.

The original plan was for Poirier to take on Ferguson and that would have been a great clash. Both are former interim Lightweight champions and are two of the biggest stars in the UFC too.

However, Poirier couldn’t agree on terms with the UFC regarding his pay out. Poirier also hit out at the promotion for not getting his dues and White claimed he had found a replacement for the Diamond.

White also believed that Ferguson would agree to fight another UFC star. However, Ferguson supported Poirier’s claims of getting paid, and that might have gotten to the UFC president.

Ferguson was confirmed to be out of the UFC 254 card and Poirier used a GIF to show how upset he was in all this.

Fighting for what is right

Normally, fans are upset when a star pulls out of a fight, especially if it is down to money.

However, most of the UFC fans have supported Poirier in all this. White even suggested that Poirier backed out of the clash because he didn’t want to face Ferguson.

However, the Diamond hit out at the president and wanted to face Ferguson. Poirier has looked good after defeating Dan Hooker while this would have been Ferguson’s fight UFC fight since losing to Justin Gaethje.

However, it will be interesting to see what happens with the pair next. Poirier deserves to be compensated fairly for doing so much for the UFC, and this is a problem that White has to deal with in the right way.
