Dustin Poirier shares his prediction for UFC 259 this weekend
The countdown clock for UFC 259 comes down to 0. The PPV scheduled to take place this Saturday has one of the tastiest fight cards in recent memory.
There are three title fights. Jan Blachowicz and Israel Adesanya face off in the main event for the light heavyweight title.
Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson will face off for the women’s featherweight belt, while Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling will face off for being the supreme bantamweight fighter in UFC.
And lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier seems pumped about it just as much as the fans. ‘The Diamond’ posted a video in a cool summer shirt to share his hot picks for the two biggest matches on the card.
“Three title fights. Lots of opportunities to make pesos… I’m gonna give you my picks. I’m gonna go with Izzy [Adesanya] and Amanda Nunes.”
UFC 259 has an exciting, unpredictable, and a star-studded fight card
It doesn’t get better than three title fights, does it? On top of that, Islam Makhachev is in action while #2 light heavyweight fighter Thiago Santos will brawl with #4 ranked Aleksandr Rakic.
For the main event, a lot of people seem to be picking Adesanya for the title fight at 205. Blachowicz has insane knockout power, but Izzy is 20-0 and has never looked better than he does now.
Nevertheless, the Pole has some people still backing him to defend his title for the first time ever. As for Nunes, there only seems to be one outcome. The Brazilian is undefeated in almost 6 years.
The double champion is #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the women’s division and is expected to run through her opponent on Saturday.
This will be Yan’s first defence of his bantamweight belt. He has looked in great form, finishing his last 2 fights and is yet to lose during his time at UFC.
