Conor McGregor feels there is nobody like him when it comes to fishing in the MMA

Gregor Gillespie announced his return to the octagon after almost two years, as he put on a clinic against Carlos Diego Ferreira. The knockout got him the Fight of the Night bonus, as he took home a whopping $100,000.

At the post-fight interview, an emotional Gillespie acknowledged Daniel Cormier’s statement that he would be going fishing next in the lightweight division.

On seeing this, Conor McGregor went on a Twitter rant claiming that he was the best fisherman in MMA, and Gillespie was not even close.

McGregor then posted a photo of himself fishing, before going on to post the famous photo of him holding the two belts, but this time with a fishy twist.

Bryce Mitchell, the undefeated UFC featherweight joined the conversation as well, saying that he was the best fisherman.

However, number one ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier sent a strong message, particularly aimed at McGregor, asking the ‘fishermen’ to keep fishing, while he was throwing real hooks.

Poirier tweeted:

“Yall keep fishing. Im throwing real hooks over here.”

Dustin Poirier says he is not good at fishing

In the same tweet where Poirier had asked McGregor and others to keep fishing, one fan urged ‘The Diamond’ to accept that he was not good at fishing.

Little did the Diamond hesitate, as he replied, “I’m not good at fishing,” much to the amusement of the user.

Poirier takes on McGregor on the 10th of July at UFC 264 in front of a full house in Vegas. The Diamond will be hoping for things to go the same way as it went at UFC 257.
