Poirier had given up a title shot, and instead had decided to pursue legacy and greatness, by settling his rivalry against the Irishman.

The scoreline currently stands at 1-1, with Poirier winning the last fight at UFC 257 via. TKO in the second round, to exact revenge for his loss at UFC 178, back in September 2014.

The fight is arguably set to be the biggest fight of the year for the promotion.

A lot of fighters and combat sports enthusiasts have begun giving their predictions for the super-clash, and recently Poirier’s boxing coach Dyah Davis gave his thoughts on how the fight would pan out.

Davis felt that the fight would be quite similar to the second fight, and predicted a third round KO victory for his client.
