The UFC recently announced they are teaming up with Dwayne Johnson’s Project Rock for the official global footwear partner
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is making big moves, and so is the UFC. Ahead of UFC 270, the Hollywood superstar has teamed up with the UFC to launch a massive collaboration – ‘Project Rock,’ the official global footwear partner of the UFC.
‘The Rock,’ known for his electrifying presence has had his fair share of association with the promotion. In late 2019, he was invited to unveil the BMF title at UFC 244.
Following UFC’s partnership with Project Rock, Johnson took to Twitter to share the news. A honoured and proud, Johnson tweeted:
“HISTORIC. I’m honored & proud, my @ProjectRock is the OFFICIAL GLOBAL FOOTWEAR PARTNER of the @UFC. Starting this weekend at #UFC270 NGANNOU vs GANE, all athletes & teams will rep @ProjectRock footwear. Engineered for the HARDEST WORKERS IN THE ROOM who WALK THE WALK.”
It is worth noting that the partnership will come into effect starting with UFC 270: Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane, following which all athletes and coaches will sport Project Rock footwear.
According to UFC.com, the fighters are set to be provided with Project Rock BSR training shoes and Project Rock slides. Later in summer, Project Rock x UFC BSR 2 training shoes are set to be launched.
In late 2015, Dwayne Johnson made the announcement about the launch of Project Rock. In partnership with famed sports brand Under Armour, the collaboration came into existence in early 2016.
The symbol is that of a Brahma bull.
Nearly 6 years later, the partnership is going from strength to strength.
