Khamzat Chimaev is 2-0 in the UFC and spoke about facing Donald Cerrone next
Khamzat Chimaev was speaking with Chael Sonnen and the Swede opened up on what his next fight could be.
The Swede is 2-0 in the UFC and has won in the Middleweight and Welterweight classes. He also won his two fights in the span of 10 days and wants more.
Dana White is planning to put Chimaev in another fight within a month. That has seen many UFC stars being linked with a fight against the Swede with the rising star calling out Demian Maia, Conor McGregor and even Dillon Danis.
However, Sonnen brought up the talk of Donald Cerrone returning to training. Cowboy lost a huge fight against Conor McGregor in 2020 before taking on Anthony Pettis in a rematch, which he ended up losing too.
Sonnen asked if there was any truth to the rumours of Chimaev facing Cerrone, but the Swede hadn’t heard anything of it. He also believed that Cerrone was an easy fight and he would win the clash early:
“No, nothing, brother. I would be happy, have good name but for me is an easy fight, easy win. I think first or second round I’m gonna finish him.”
Just want to fight
Chimaev was back in Sweden as he spoke about his future plans. While Sonnen asked if the Swede had any rivals in mind, the 26-year-old just wanted to get back into the ring and fight.
Chimaev added that he wanted to appear more in the 170-pound division, however, he was happy to fight in the Middleweight class too if the UFC gave him good opponents.
The 26-year-old was confident of smashing everyone in the UFC and just wanted to fight soon.
