Dana White confirmed that Khabib Nurmagomedov had broken his foot a few weeks before UFC 254
Khabib Nurmagomedov cemented his greatest at UFC 254 as he submitted Justin Gaethje with ease in the second round.
The Russian had come into this fight at 28-0 and was looking to pick up another win. However, many had suggested that Gaethje was going to give him a good fight.
The American tried to get going but Khabib smothered him from the first minute. Khabib used a brilliant triangle choke to take Gaethje out, and this led to an emotional outburst.
The champion was crying in the middle of the Octagon and surprised everyone by announcing his retirement. Khabib claimed that he made a promise to his mother that this would be his last fight.
His father had passed away recently and that also seemed to have taken a huge toll on the Russian. That got a lot of people talking but more was to come too.

The win over Gaethje and going 29-0 already had cemented Khabib’s UFC legacy but Dana White shared some astonishing details after the fight.

The UFC president was speaking to the press and claimed that Khabib had a broken foot three weeks ahead of the clash.
White added that Khabib had a couple of broken toes and a bone in his foot that was broken too. It was incredible that Khabib continued with his preparations with the fight and didn’t pull out.
That would have obviously led to comments of him trying to duck the fight. However, the Russian pulled through and got a fantastic win in the end.
There was some tape around one of his toes but nothing much was made about it during the clash. That could have been a sign that he had a foot injury, but the Russian barely showed any problems at all.
This news of fighting with a broken foot got a lot of people talking and many UFC fans only had glowing praise for the Russian.

One thing Khabib Haters don’t understand that he stood up with Justin and beat him in striking Justin suppose to be the most powerful guy in the division. He did same with Conor and dropped him. He’s all around best MMA fighter ever competed in Octagon
