Dustin Poirier confirms that he is going to complete a trilogy with Conor McGregor just days after their UFC 257 fight
It has not even been two weeks since UFC 257 and we might already have a third fight confirmed between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.
The Diamond secured a massive win over The Notorious One at UFC 257 which put him in the driving seat for the lightweight belt.
That was, of course, the rematch of their 2014 bout at UFC 178. That time, it was the Irish who came out victorious. Not this time, though, as the American was dominant inside the octagon.
Poirier has since been a wanted man. Everyone in that division, and some even in the welterweight division, want to have a go at him.
McGregor himself spoke of doing it a third time with Poirier after he lost at the main event last month. And, it seems like Poirier was listening.
The Diamond took to his Twitter account to confirm that he would be willing to go against McGregor for the third time. He wrote, “You know we are going to do it a 3rd time”.
He did not specify a date, however. But, if he is on board, and so is McGregor, then not a lot of people can stop this fight from happening in the future.
Some MMA fans were not pleased with the announcement, and they made their feelings known in the reply section of the tweets.
Others thought that this was a great opportunity for Poirier to inflict more pain on McGregor. They think it would be an easy win for the American.
