Nick Diaz is working hard at getting into shape as he plans a possible UFC return in 2021
The UFC world was left in shock as Nick Diaz was seen cutting weight and possibly preparing for a return.
Diaz is one of the big names in the MMA circuit and his brother, Nate, is still competing in it. The 37-year-old Nick hasn’t fought since 2015 where he met Anderson Silva in a no contest.
Nick has fought many of the top stars from the previous generation with such as Georges St-Pierre, and Ariel Helwani had more information about the return.
Nick’s manager, Kevin Mubenga, added that the 37-year-old had completed a 14-week weight cut. Nick was also looking to return in 2021 and face some of the top Welterweight contenders.
… he is keeping a close eye on the big welterweight fights coming up. He is “100%” planning on fighting again, per Mubenga, and is targeting an early 2021 return. (📽 @elfrogito)

Some big clashes on Nick’s agenda?
The older Diaz has won titles in many other promotions but has never picked up the gold in the UFC.
Nevertheless, he is considered as one of the best and has an MMA record of 26 wins, nine losses and two no contests.
Nick has also had problems with USADA and Nevada Athletic State Commission over Cannabis use, but he has been eligible to compete since 2018.
It will be interesting to see what his plans are and if he is looking to make a return to the UFC. The Welterweight division is packed with some quality names such as Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns.
2021 isn’t all that far away and more details are awaited regarding Nick’s future. However, many UFC fans were more than happy to hear the news of his return.
Some just wanted to see Diaz in the Octagon and were willing to buy tickets. Others, however, had some opponents in mind for Nick and here are a few reactions from social media.

I bet he will challenge Masvidal if Masvidal beats Nate.

I mean @nickdiaz209 VS @danhardymma at 170 doesn’t sound bad for both men trying to make a return 🤷🏻♂️
