Audie Attar, the manager of Conor McGregor, confirmed that they had spoken to the UFC over a return
Dana White confirmed that talks had been going on regarding the return of Conor McGregor. The Irishman had retired from the UFC a while back but not many believed he was a man of his word.
This wasn’t questioning McGregor’s character but simply bringing up the fact that he had retired several times in the past only to make a return.
However, McGregor hasn’t fought since his 40-second win over Donald Cerrone. The Notorious One recently posted a social media update where the USADA were testing him, even though he was on a yacht.
That got the UFC world talking and now White’s comments have certainly opened up the chance of McGregor returning.
A different role for McGregor?
Ariel Helwani also provided an update from Conor McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar. However, the comments didn’t confirm that McGregor was set to fight someone.
The Irishman has won titles in two UFC divisions, but he hasn’t looked the same since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Attar spoke about some fun roles too and that could mean a lot of things for McGregor:
Spoke to Conor McGregor’s mgr Audie Attar today re: McGregor’s future following White’s comments today. Attar:
“We had some very interesting talks with the UFC recently. We are excited about the future and working on some fun things. Exciting things to come in the near future.”

Many former UFC stars have become announcers and that could be a role for McGregor in the future. Michael Bisping, Daniel Cormier and Paul Felder have all taken up the microphone in recent years and have done an amazing job.
It will be interesting to see what is up for the Irishman. McGregor is still one of the biggest names in the world of sport, and he is partly responsible for making the UFC as big as it is today.
While many fans were happy learning of McGregor’s return, some didn’t want to see him fight. Twitter was split regarding the return of the Notorious One, and here are some of their reactions:

Sounds very fun, and exciting. And also exciting, with a little fun sprinkled in there.
