Daniel Cormier might have retired from the ring but he tried to take on Khabib Nurmagomedov before UFC 254
Khabib Nurmagomedov faces his toughest test on Saturday as he faces Justin Gaethje for the UFC Lightweight title.
Khabib is undefeated in his career and many claim he is one of the greatest MMA athletes of all-time. The Russian is the current Lightweight champion but many believe that Gaethje could snatch the belt away from him.
Khabib might have the weight of the world on his shoulders, however, he isn’t showing that one bit. The Russian is close to many top UFC stars and there was a playful exchange between him and Daniel Cormier.
DC is a former two-division UFC champion and is currently doing commentary for the promotion. The American was a gifted wrestler and represented the US in the Olympics too.
He was seen trying to wrestle Khamzat Chimaev a few days back and tried to get the better of Khabib too.

There is a huge weight difference between the two, but DC took it easy on the Russian.
Time for their own show
Cormier has done exceptionally well to have an alternate career to fighting. He has his own podcast on ESPN and his commentary role for the UFC too.
He is close to several fighters and many saw the exchange from the pair as something that can develop further.
Khabib doesn’t have too many distractions now but several fans believed a TV show should be in the works with them.
The Khabib and DC show also has a nice ring to it, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Russian.
Love this friendship, hopefully one day khabib does UFC commentary just so i can hear “this is number 1 bullshit” and DC laughing

DC always begging and tapping out with Khabib. "My knee my knee my knee… My arm my arm my arm…"

Right now, he has a lot on his plate against Gaethje. Khabib is aiming to be 29-0 after this fight and also dreams of taking on Georges St-Pierre, which could be one of the greatest fights ever.
There is no doubting Khabib’s legacy but he can cement it further with a win at UFC 254.
