Artem Lobov and Conor McGregor have been teammates for quite a longtime
The MMA world has been eagerly anticipating the trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. The fight takes place on the 10th of July at UFC 264.
The predictions for the fight have been flooding in, with a boatload coming every single day. With the rivalry score currently 1-1, the chase for greatness and legacy will be at monumental peak, come July the 10th.
After being devastated by McGregor in the first fight at UFC 178, Poirier has improved vastly. He showed so much maturity in the rematch at UFC 257, knocking McGregor out in the second round. It was the Irishman’s first ever knockout loss.
Elsewhere, Artem Lobov, former UFC Featherweight, who last competed in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships gave his prediction for the fight. Lobov who is McGregor’s teammate in Ireland, believed that the ‘Notorious’ would knock Poirier out this time around.
Speaking to Bareknuckle Uncensored on YouTube, Lobov said:
““We have to give credit to Dustin. He’s done his homework. He’s improved a lot since the first fight and he did a good job. But I think now when Conor is switched on, he knows what’s up. His full focus is on this fight. He’s studied him, he looked at what the issues were in the second fight and honestly when Conor shows up like that? There’s no stopping him. So I see him stopping Dustin early, first, maybe second round. I want to say first. My prediction is first round but it could go into the second.” [via Bloody Elbow]
Well, if Lobov’s prediction is right, McGregor might go on to face Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title.
Artem Lobov and ‘the Conor McGregor bus attack’
Conor McGregor’s rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov intensified due to Artem Lobov. It all started when Khabib and his teammates confronted Lobov on the 3rd of April.
This didn’t sit well with McGregor as he decided to attack Khabib’s team bus, just 2 days later. A few fighters were hurt due to the shattering of glasses in the bus. Until this day, it is considered to be one of the most disgusting controversies that rocked the UFC.
Khabib was enraged beyond human reality, as all the emotions spilt over at the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
