Former UFC lightweight Brok Weaver has given his prediction for the upcoming trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier

McGregor vs Poirier 3 will be headlining UFC 264 on the 10th of July, as the pair are set for the number one lightweight contender match. The winner will be taking on Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title.

It was McGregor who gained the upper hand in the rivalry after he defeated Poirier via. a first-round knockout at UFC 178, back in September 2014.

More than 6 years later, Poirier exacted revenge at UFC 257 to even the scores in the rivalry. A trilogy fight was agreed in the immediate aftermath, and no we are just a month away from the super-clash.

Poirier recently trained with former UFC lightweight Brok Weaver.

Weaver took to Twitter to acknowledge Poirier’s greatness, while also sharing his prediction for the upcoming trilogy fight. Weaver claimed that he was excited for Poirier’s victory in the fight.

“If you wanna be a Diamond train with one. @DustinPoirier thanks for the work. Excited for your victory in the trilogy.”

Brok Weaver was recently released by the UFC, earlier this year in March. He had a record of 1 wins and 2 losses in the promotion. He now plies his trade at iKon Fighting Federation, where he already has a win to his name.

Dustin Poirier reveals his motivation behind his fights

Poirier is very well known for being a family man. ‘The Diamond’ recently took to Twitter to reveal his motivation behind his fights.

Posting a picture of his daughter Parker Noelle Poirier playing with his wife Jolie Poirier, Dustin claimed that fighting for his family was “worth more than silver and gold.”

“What I’m fighting for Is worth more than silver and gold.”
