Francis Ngannou is ready to throw down against the best of the best – Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder
Francis Ngannou would love to try his hands against Boxing’s best. The UFC heavyweight champion – the hardest puncher in history, is known for his ferocious and beyond-powerful striking.
‘The Predator’ as he is known, will soon be defending his heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. This will be his first title defense fight.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Ngannou expressed his desire to box. He also named heavyweight champ Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder as the opponents he would like to fight.
‘The Predator’ was quoted as saying:
“It’s always been down the line. This is something I’m not taking my eyes off of. It’s gonna happen, either way. Even if, when the UFC and I finalize a deal, the boxing part has to be into it because I can’t see myself retire without boxing…Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder. I would like to test myself to that level.” [via TMZ]
A point to note here is that – Ngannou has just one fight left in his UFC contract. His future in the promotion looks hazy and uncertain currently.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Ngannou revealed the best all-round MMA striker according to him.
Despite a potential rivalry largely looming, Ngannou named light-heavyweight great Jon Jones as the best MMA striker. He was quoted as saying:
“If I’m about to say the best striker for MMA striking, it would still be Jon Jones. But if we go kickboxing style, then I think it will be Ciryl [Gane]. But for MMA striking, I would give it to Jon Jones. Because, like, with his elbow and all this stuff that he does.. the oblique kick, all those stuff. For MMA, is the perfect striking.” [via BJPenn.com]
