UFC Heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou is currently at his house in Cameroon
Ngannou got his job done at UFC 260, exacting revenge over Stipe Miocic via. knockout in the second round. He thereby clinched the heavyweight belt becoming the first African heavyweight to do so.
He then had one more job left to do. Corner his fellow African brother Kamaru Usman in his match against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261. Usman had cornered Ngannou at UFC 260. The Cameroonian returned the favour in style, and Usman delivered on the big stage at UFC 261.
Once he got the job done, Ngannou returned to his homeland – Cameroon. He received a king’s welcome, even as his elated mother stood by him and watched her son proudly.
And, there is no denying the fact that Ngannou is a great human being. He might look like a predator, in fact he is the ‘Predator’, but he is an unbelievably soft-hearted man.
More recently, number 8 ranked heavyweight Walt Harris opened up about a recent incident with Ngannou in the Schmozone podcast.
Harris revealed how Ngannou was kind enough to offer him to stay in his house (probably the one in Vegas), while he was looking for a place to say. Harris went on to state that, Ngannou even offered him to use his gear and other stuff.
This is what Harris had to say:
“I am actually house-sitting for him…They are actually coming to renovate tomorrow morning…He is got a nice crib. That was a blessing for me coming out here…I was staying in the hotel for the first couple of days. Francis was like, ‘Look, stay here, it’s your house. Whatever you need, you wanna wear my gear and all that!’ I’m like, ‘Damn dog! I appreciate it, I got my stuff brother, I just need a place to sleep’.”
Harris’ story about staying at Ngannou’s house, had everyone in the room (Schmo, Helen Yee, Brandon Moreno) feel wholesome. Quite awesome, when fighters reach out to each other like that.
Harris then went on to reveal the love he had for the Cameroonian. He said:
“He is a good man. He’s somebody I’m always rooting for, and I’ve always admired how hard he worked.”
Walt Harris is currently scheduled to face Marcin Tybura on the 5th of June at UFC Fight Night 189.
