Francis Ngannou was gifted an NFT of his best KO recently

The UFC recently released a new NFT collection named Strike in partnership with Dapper Labs. The collection of NFTs will highlight iconic finishes of UFC fighters over the course of the years.

Ahead of UFC 270, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou was seen sporting the NFT in a chain. It was his highlight reel KO of Alistair Overeem in 2017.

Taking to Instagram, Ngannou shared a couple of snaps of the same and also a video of himself unboxing the same.

He captioned the post:

“Wearing my Champion Tier knockout Moment from @ufcstrike.”

Ngannou took on Overeem on the 2nd of December, 2017 at UFC 218. In the very first round, ‘The Predator’ unleashed an uppercut that nearly airlifted ‘The Reem.’ The Dutchman lay on the ground motionless. To date, it is believed to be one of the greatest heavyweight knockouts of all time.

The UFC athletes will receive 50% of the UFC’s share of the revenue from NFT sales.

This is feasible only if the athlete has a highlight reel KO to their name.

Aaron Bronsteter of TSN tweeted, confirming the same:

“Per the UFC, the athletes will receive 50% of the UFC’s share of revenue from NFT sales, including secondary sales. Example: An NFT featuring Ngannou scoring a KO over an opponent is sold, Ngannou and the opponent will split the 50% of the UFC’s share of that sale.”
