UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou is set to undergo knee surgery and is expected to miss at least 9 months
Francis Ngannou is set to undergo knee surgery which will see him sit out for several months. The news was first reported by Brett Okamoto after Ngannou’s manager Marquel Martin revealed the same.
Ahead of his successful title defense at UFC 270 against Ciryl Gane, it came to light that ‘The Predator’ had suffered a torn MCL and a damaged ACL during the training camp in the lead-up to the fight.
Despite the issue being kept under wraps, questions were raised when Ngannou walked into the arena with knee support on both his legs.
According to Martin, Ngannou is set to undergo surgery before training or competing again.

Sean Strickland has a suggestion for Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury fight
Talks of a possible fight between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury have been rife in recent times.
In the wake of this, top-ranked UFC middleweight Sean Strickland offered a suggestion as to how the fight should go ahead. Mentioning that the pair would have it to their advantage in their respective sports, Strickland clarified that Ngannou and Fury should fight it out with 4-ounce gloves with bare-knuckle rules.
He tweeted:
“Tyson fury beats Francious in a boxing match without a doubt. Francious kills Tyson in a fight. Literally takes his life….. They should do 4 ounce gloves with bare knucke rules. That’s the middle ground…’
It now looks like we might not see Ngannou vs Fury for a while. ‘The Gypsy King’ recently took to Instagram to announce his fight against Dillian Whyte for the WBC Heavyweight Title.
