“Life is good” – Francis Ngannou shares what he is up to in his native Cameroon

After clinching heavyweight gold and successfully cornering Kamaru Usman, Francis Ngannou is back in his native Cameroon

What a year it has been for Ngannou. The Cameroonian started off 2021 with just one thing in mind- to clinch the heavyweight title. And boy, did he do it in style!

Ngannou knocked out champion Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260, thereby becoming the first African UFC heavyweight champion, and also the first UFC champion from Cameroon.

Now, Ngannou is the man to beat, and he is expected to take on heavyweight division newcomer Jon Jones or Derrick Lewis.

Ngannou, however, didn’t return home once he clinched the heavyweight belt. He returned the favour to his fellow African fighter Kamaru Usman who had cornered him at UFC 260, as he successfully cornered the Nigerian Nightmare to victory at UFC 261.

And finally, after the job was done, The ‘Predator’ returned to his home country Cameroon, and received a king’s welcome at Douala.

He then shared an emotional moment with his mother, even as thousands watched as he gave her his heavyweight belt.

It’s been more than a week since the heavyweight champ returned to his hometown, and he recently posted a photo on Instagram, chilling on his rooftop at Yaounde, Cameroon eating some good food.

He captioned the post:

Jacob Duran believes Francis Ngannou will beat Jon Jones

The highly-anticipated heavyweight clash between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones has everyone in the combat sports community buzzing.

Famed cutman Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran gave his prediction for the bout in an interview with the Schmo.

He said Ngannou has got ridiculous and it would just take one shot to change the entire course of the fight.

Here is what ‘Stitch’ had to say:

“It’s nice to move around like Jon Jones, but God, Power is Power bro! You know, you get hit one time and it changes your whole personality. So, I see Francis kinda doing well.”
