Talks of Gable Steveson joining the UFC or WWE have been rife in recent times
Gable Steveson is one of the most sought after talents in recent times.
The Wrestler from the University of Minnesota did the USA proud at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by winning the Gold medal in the Men’s 125kg freestyle wrestling.
He had no trouble (except the finals) in dispatching his opponents. In fact, he blanked most of them, on his way to winning the Gold medal. Only in the finals did Steveson struggle, turning around the match in the very last minute.
Ever since he returned to the US, talks of him joining notable promotions like UFC, WWE and even AEW have been omnipresent.
UFC President Dana White revealed that he would be catching up with Steveson “this weekend in Vegas.”
However, they never met, and Steveson opened up on the same in a recent episode of MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.
A marauding Steveson said that he had no time to reach out to the boss since he had his hands full.
He then claimed White could call him if he wanted to talk:
“Meeting did not happen, and I got to Vegas, I was on go the whole day. So, I had no time to reach out or nothing.”
“He’s got my number. He can reach out.”
Steveson continued:
“He’s not coming at me like that. Like I said, I await my turn. Dana you have my phone number. You’ve got my Instagram. I don’t run to people, you know?”
Talks of Steveson signing with AEW also have been doing the rounds.
However, in the same episode with Helwani, he confirmed that the AEW haven’t contacted him yet.
Steveson was quoted as saying:
“I know AEW can do its job, but I’ve never been approached. We’ll see if they approach.”
