Gerald Meerschaert will fight Khamzat Chimaev next on the Tyron Woodley vs Colby Covington card
UFC star Khamzat Chimaev seems to be up against a quality opponent for his next fight.
The Swedish star is 8-0 in his MMA career and has taken the UFC world by storm. Chimaev won two fights in two different weight classes in a span of 10 days, and is keen to get back into the Octagon.
Dana White has put him up against Gerald Meerschaert and that seems to be a great match.
Meerschaert is 32 and has a 31-13 MMA career record but has sounded out his rival already. The American has claimed he will destroy Chimaev and some UFC fans believe this is a possibility.
The UFC seems to have found its golden goose in Chimaev and even White has promoted the 8-0 MMA star several times.
Chimaev was also one of the stars that the UFC pushed in a recent promo. However, Meerschaert wasn’t all that impressed with all this and “corrected” it on his behalf.

There are some incredible clashes also on the same card such as Donald Cerrone and Niko Price, and it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Chimaev has set his next targets
While the Swede needs to win this fight and continue his great MMA career, the UFC already has plans for his next fight.
White confirmed that Chimaev would face Demian Maia next, and the Swede was ready for it. The 26-year-old also called out both Nate and Nick Diaz recently.
Nick is set to make his UFC return soon and is preparing hard. However, Chimaev claimed he would take both of them on the same night after dealing with Maia.
There is no doubting Chimaev’s confidence and his performances have been great. However, Meerschaert is talking the talk and it will be interesting to see if he walks the walk too.
