Deiveson Figueiredo defeated Alex Perez at UFC 255 and remained the UFC Flyweight Champion
UFC Flyweight Champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, seems always ready for a fight and has been impressive since joining the promotion.
The God of War, as he is called, has just one loss in his MMA career and 20 wins. He might have missed the first chance at winning the Flyweight title by not cutting enough weight but that didn’t stop him from getting the crown in a rematch against Joseph Benavidez.
Figueiredo was again excellent against Alex Perez and defeated him easily and Gilbert Burns posted that he was jealous of his fellow Brazilian.
However, this wasn’t something our of anger or spite but the fact that Figueiredo is set to defend his title again.
The God of War will face Brandon Moreno at UFC 256 and that is the shortest time taken for a title fight turn around.
Burns wanted to bring up his own title chances and that was part of his tweet too:
Im jealous of Figueiredo (in a good way) can’t wait to get my belt and defend quick it multiple times 🤩 https://t.co/WsRgmdSlhw

Figueiredo showing how it is done
The Flyweight division seemed to be a ship without a rudder in the UFC until Figueiredo brought it back to life.
The God of War might be the most impressive UFC champion now and another title fight could cement his legacy.
Figueiredo isn’t afraid to call out people and is willing to even face Cody Garbrandt after UFC 256. It will be interesting to see how he does against Moreno but the Brazilian should be the favourite in this clash.
Burns, for his part, has to wait a bit before his Welterweight title shot. He was to face Kamaru Usman at UFC 256 but the champion wants some more to heal up from an injury.
Burns has also turned his career around after moving to the Welterweight division and he seems to be a tough challenger for Usman’s gold.
