Fresh off his UFC 273 war against Khamzat Chimaev, Gilbert Burns provides updates that persuaded him to believe that he won the fight

UFC 273 featured an epic contest between two of the best welterweights in the world Gilbert Burns and Khamzat Chimaev. The fight had bloodshed, round the clock action, emotion-charged moments and gripping transitions. The fight is already in conversation for being a potential fight of the year nomination.

Both fighters were bloodied and battered at the end of the fight, and in foregone conclusion will take some time before returning to the cage. Gilbert Burns showed the Chechen that it’s not a cakewalk hanging with the best of the division, and put Chimaev’s hype to test.

However, now having had time to reflect on his loss and the actual fight, Burns strongly feels that he had done enough to win the fight. To his credit and everyone’s shock, his knockdown in the second round wasn’t considered one, which shocked the MMA community. A major chunk of fans’ opinions are reciprocal, who believe that Burns won the fight and Chimaev’s hype got deflated a bit.

Gilbert posted an image with some statistics from the fight that validate his claim. He outstruck Chimaev in the second and third round, which is evident from the image.

Nate Diaz blasts Dana White for fueling the Khamzat Chimaev hype train

Before Burns signed the dotted line to fight Chimaev, Dana White had expressed his interest in booking a potential fight between Nate Diaz and the Chechen. It is informed to all by now that Diaz is waiting with bated breath to fight out the last fight in his contract and test the free agency waters.

Diaz had blasted the idea during an interview with TMZ Sports stating that Chimaev hasn’t fought a top contender yet, and he needs to work up the rank to deserve a fight against him.

The younger Diaz brother had famously called out Conor Mcgregor in a profanity-laced post fight interview owing to the push and hype the Irish Man was receiving from the organization. The Stockton slugger notices the same pattern with the push that Chimaev has been receiving and this did not sit well with him.

He posted an Instagram story with the caption, ‘ Outta nowhere? He’s from ur nuts and ur skeeting. Him all over the media just like you did with Conor’s bitc**ss. Fu**both of them.’
