Gilbert Burns wants to destroy Nate Diaz after “real fight” comments ahead of UFC 251

Nate Diaz gave his approval for Jorge Masvidal vs Kamaru Usman at UFC 251 but Gilbert Burns wasn’t pleased

Gilbert Burns missed out at UFC 251 after testing positive for the coronavirus. The Brazilian was to face Kamaru Usman for the Welterweight title but had to pull out.

That opened the door for Jorge Masvidal to take the fight on short notice, and it certainly has gotten a lot of people excited.

Masvidal vs Usman was to take place before negotiations problems started with Gamebred. Burns then picked up an impressive victory and was made the #1 contender for Usman’s title.

However, Masvidal is back in the clash and this is one of the biggest rivalries in the UFC. This clash also got the thumbs up from Nate Diaz who posted the following message on social media:

“Real fights are better fights 100”

This seemed to be a shot at Burns, however, the Brazilian didn’t take this lying down and shot right back at Diaz.

“Real? I would m*** you! I will out grapple you and out box you.. and I slap you up don’t talk abt real”

Burns missing out on this clash would have upset him, but there is no doubt that he would be willing for another fight as soon as he is fit.

Burns vs Diaz?

The Brazilian would need a new rival once he recovers and unless the UFC puts him in the title bout again, it would be interesting to see who his next opponent is.

Diaz, for his part, hasn’t fought since losing to Masvidal at UFC 244. That was for the BMF title and it needed a doctor’s stoppage to call off the fight.

Diaz has hinted at a rematch against Masvidal too, and that would be stellar. However, a clash against Burns would be great, especially with the Brazilian all fired up.
