Rachael Ostovich’s last fight was against Paige VanZant, who has signed exclusively for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
Rachael Ostovich was speaking to the Schmo ahead of a big fight for the UFC star. Ostovich faces Gina Mazany in her next fight at UFC Fight Night 184.
The 29-year-old doesn’t have a winning MMA record anymore as she is 4-5. Ostovich is on a two-fight losing streak and her last battle was against a former UFC star.
Paige VanZant left the UFC to join Bare Knuckle Fight Championship. VanZant was one of the biggest female names in the promotion but the UFC could not agree on a deal with her.
Ostovich was asked what she thought about this and she wished Paige the best:
“I wish her the best. I am happy for her and whatever decision she made and I am excited to watch her.
“That sounds crazy, I don’t think I would ever do that, honestly.”
The Schmo then tried to bring up that Ostovich’s face was “too important” as it might get destroyed in Bare Knuckle.
However, the UFC star swatted away those suggestions:
“No, no, not at all. I wouldn’t be in this sport if it [face] was too important.”
The Schmo highlighted that there were a ton of cuts involved in Bare Knuckle, and Ostovich hoped that they had a good cutman:
“For sure, I hope there is a good cutman on deck when she is fighting because she got some good stuff going on too.”
Looking for the big bucks
While Ostovich is also one of the known faces in the promotion, she was still looking to get the big bucks in.
She confirmed that getting big sponsors and making a ton of money was the plan. However, she was looking to fight Mazany and believed it would be a good match up.
Ostovich added that she was training hard with her father and it was exciting times for her. She also told Helen Yee that a cosmetics line was in the works and she hoped that could be launched before her next fight.
