Greg Hardy was a controversial figure in the UFC and has been released after a poor run of form
Greg Hardy posted an emotional message on Instagram after he was released by the UFC. The 33-year-old came into the UFC with a lot of hype around him because he was actually in the NFL.
Hardy played from 2010 to 2015 in the NFL before deciding to make the transition to MMA. He was undefeated in his amateur fights and started 3-0 in his professional career.
Hardy’s time in the UFC, however, didn’t go all that well. The 33-year-old lost his last three fights and was knocked out in each of them.
His performances weren’t all that great in the latter stages of his UFC career, and in his last two bouts he failed to even cross the first round.
There was a lot of speculation regarding the future of Hardy, and it seems the UFC has made the decision to cut him.
Hardy posted a big message on social media and claimed he was not done. He also thanked the UFC and all those who supported him.
“What a run, ya boy is far from done just got some fine tuning to do. Thank you to all my fans and haters. I appreciate you all. Mostly i appreciate my coaches, family, and the @ufc for giving me the opportunity to shine bright”
An up and down career in the UFC for Greg Hardy
Hardy didn’t have it easy before coming to the UFC as he was arrested for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
That put a shadow on him joining the UFC, but he started his career very brightly in the Octagon. At one stage, he was 7-2 (1) in his MMA career and it seemed like things were falling into place for the Prince of War.
However, his last three bouts brought a halt to the experiment. Hardy had some good times and some poor ones in his MMA career. He currently has a 7-5 (1) record, and it will be interesting to see where he could go next.
There are other MMA promotions all across the world, and Hardy could end up in one of them.
