Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre (GSP) shared stage in Birmingham, United Kingdom recently
Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov dominated the UFC across different timelines. GSP was untouchable during the late 2000s and the early 2010s.
Khabib, meanwhile, picked up steam towards the mid-2010s and dominated towards the very end of the decade. He retired following UFC 254 in October 2020 with an undefeated record of 29-0.
The pair recently shared a heartwarming moment on stage at the Arnold Sports Festival in the United Kingdom. While Khabib was giving an interview, GSP snuck up from behind and put him in a lock, before Khabib could grasp the entire situation.
Once, Khabib turned around to find that it was GSP who did it, he shared a warm embrace with ‘Rush.’
Take a look at the video below:
There were numerous rumors afloat following Khabib’s retirement that ‘The Eagle’ would come back if he were to fight St-Pierre.
However, Khabib put that to bed with his official retirement in March 2021, and while also confirming that he had turned down a GSP fight offer as well.
Georges St-Pierre took to Instagram to post a story of himself and Khabib sharing the stage. He captioned it:
“What a honor and a pleasure been on stage with the KING of MMA, Khabib Nurmagomedov.”
The fans in the arena, as expected, were delighted to see the two legends on stage together.
