Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo have been at loggerheads with each other since Sterling’s DQ win over Petr Yan at UFC 259
Sterling became the first fighter in UFC history to win a championship via. disqualification when he faced Petr Yan at UFC 259. An illegal knee from Yan on a grounded Sterling meant that the fight and eventually his bantamweight title was awarded to the Jamaican.
Sterling appeared concussed as he kept sinking to the canvas due to the impact received from Yan’s knee. However he then got back on his feet when he was awarded the title.
Later that day, Sterling was heavily criticized by almost everyone in the MMA community for overplaying Yan’s illegal knee. And one among them was retired, former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.
‘Triple C’ was very vocal about the way Sterling reacted to Yan’s illegal knee, accusing him of putting on an ‘Academy award winning’ level performance.
The pair’s rivalry intensified once again this week, as Cejudo quote Tweeted a GIF of Sterling sinking to the canvas, which had a sarcastic caption aimed at Triple C.
Cejudo captioned it calling it the academy award performance for the best picture.
An agitated Funk Master replied that he would school Cejudo once his injury is cleared.
Sterling wrote:
“Winning** I keep forgetting you never went to school. But I can take you to school once my injury is cleared, my son. It鈥檚 nothing but a text to Dana. You know this.”
And, Cejudo decided to have a further go at the bantamweight champ saying that he didn’t deserve that extra letter, while calling him a wiener.
