Henry Cejudo was on the Joe Rogan Experience recently
Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo spoke about his hardships during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience.
Cejudo was the UFC Bantamweight Champion before he retired from the Octagon. That decision shocked a lot of people, including Dana White.
However, the former UFC star has been appearing on AEW recently and is in Mike Tyson’s posse too. Cejudo and Rogan were speaking about the hardships that people have gone through during the Covid-19 pandemic, and Triple C shared some of the problems he had to deal with too:
“I am one of seven kids and was raised by a single mother. I was a kid that was picked on, its different when you are the smallest in the immigrant family.
“You are going to get beat up through your childhood until you reach the age where you can fight back.”
Cejudo and Rogan were also speaking on how some people attain mental toughness via hardships while growing up, and Triple C was speaking on that.
He also highlighted that school was a place for him to get food with lunch and breakfast available:
“Going to school was like a place, for us, for me, I got to eat lunch and breakfast.”
The former champion also said that people from the middle class and minorities do have an advantage since many of them grow up in adversity.
Rogan chimed in saying that people can learn mental toughness but many pick it up while growing up due to conditions.
Cejudo is one of the biggest stories in MMA right now but he has achieved a lot outside of it too. The American won gold in wrestling in the Olympics, and it will be interesting to see what he has in store for the future.
Cejudo did say he would be open to a UFC return but wanted to fight Alexander Volkanovski in hopes of being a champion in a third division.
