We are just a few days away from Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3. The pair will be headlining UFC 264 this weekend.
The crucial match will see the victor getting a shot at the lightweight title, against the newly-crowned champion Charles Oliveira.
Such high-voltage matches will have to be officiated by the best of the best. And it has been confirmed that the experienced Herb Dean would be the referee for the main event at UFC 264 between McGregor and Poirier.
The news was first reported by Mike Heck of MMA fighting. He also revealed the three judges who would be scoring the contest – Derek Cleary, Sal D’Amato and Junichiro Kumijo.
Heck’s tweet read:
“Herb Dean will officiate Saturday’s #UFC264 main event between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. Judges will be Derek Cleary, Sal D’Amato and Junichiro Kumijo.”
Herb Dean has official several crucial McGregor fights. The most notable one being the fiery clash between McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, which McGregor ended up losing.
Marc Raimondi of ESPN MMA revealed how much Herb Dean would be taking home following the match between McGregor and Poirier.
Dean’s salary for officiating the main event would be $1900. The judges will be getting $1600 each.
Raimondi’s tweet read:

Following Raimondi’s post, several users pointed out the fact that a payment of $1900 was very low.
