Former UFC Women’s Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk took a huge swipe at Colby Covington.
Covington is a bit of a villain in the UFC scenes and lost his last match against Kamaru Usman. The American also broke his jaw in the match, and well, not many have taken a liking to him.
TMZ caught up with Jedrzejczyk ahead of UFC 248 where she is in action, and the former champion didn’t mince her words about Covington:
“He’s a pri**. I don’t care about these guys.
“He doesn’t know how to act, he’s not a real man. He doesn’t know how to say ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’ or ‘sorry’ to a woman.”
The Polish star was asked about the root of all these problems, and she shared more problems that Covington has:
“He was talking s*** about Dustin Poirier and Jorge Masvidal, who he was friends with, you can’t do that.”
She went on to say that American Top Team has several stars from across the world and you need to show respect to your teammates and not talk bad about them.
She was also asked if he was the most disliked fighter in UFC but Jedrzejczyk wished Covington all the best and even claimed that “Usman had humbled him”.
Covington has played the role of a villain extremely well, and it will be interesting to see when he is back in the Octagon.
The Polish star will fight for the Strawweight title at UFC 248 against Zhang Weili. The Chinese competitor is on a 20-match winning streak and this should be one of the best fights of the night.
Jedrzejczyk admitted that she had been working hard, taking up almost 13 training sessions in a week.
She added that while she respected the champion, it was time to show who was the “queen” in this championship bout.
