“Hey p*****” – Jon Jones gets called out by Israel Adesanya on Twitter for a fight

Jon Jones was recently arrested for DWI and gun possession but escaped major punishment

UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya seems to have Jon Jones in his sights.

The New Zealand-Nigerian star kept hold of his title in a controversial match against Yoel Romero at UFC 248.

Adesanya is yet to lose an MMA bout since turning professional and is currently 19-0 in his career. The 30-year-old has won 14 of his fights by knockout but it seems he has bigger fish to fry.

Jon Jones is regarded as the best men’s fighter currently and possibly of all-time. The UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has had his problems with the law and was arrested recently for DWI and gun possession.

However, he escaped a major fine and it will be interesting to see when his next fight could be.

Adesanya, for his part, already called out Jones and even decided to take aim at him with a derogatory remark:

Will the fight take place?

Adesanya vs Jones would be something great but they are in different weight classes. The Middleweight champion would have to move up a division or Bones would have to go down one, but that seems unlikely at the moment.

Jones has been incredible in the Light Heavyweight division and it would take something special to beat him.

Adesanya, for his part, is never shy from calling out opponents, and it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Jones will be thinking about his next title defence, something that Adesanya should do too. There, however, could be a catchweight fight between the pair with no title on the line.

No UFC events are scheduled at the moment after Disney and ESPN pulled the plug on UFC 249. Dana White confirmed that it was out of his hands, but he still wanted to go ahead with the event despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Adesanya vs Jones seems to be a dream at the moment, and we need things to normalise before the UFC returns too.
