Israel Adesanya sounded confident ahead of the UFC 248 fight against Yoel Romero

UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya claimed that Yoel Romero seemed dead in his own eyes ahead of the UFC 248 clash.

Adesanya is headlining the co-main event of the night in Las Vegas and is yet to lose a fight in his MMA career.

However, Romero will be a tough opponent for the New Zealand/Nigerian star. Adesanya has been speaking about the fear in the Cuban’s eyes and highlighted that while speaking to CBS’ Brian Campbell.

Campbell asked what he thought after their face-off and Adesanya also suggested that one of Romero’s eyes weren’t right.

“His eyes. His eyes are dead, his left one’s wonky and a few other things I won’t disclose but you will find out on Saturday night.”

Adapt, overcome, bend

Adesanya also has the nickname of ‘Stylebender’ in the UFC for his ability to mix up his game, and he was asked how he would deal with Romero:

“I mean. This is what I do, I adapt and overcome. I bend according to the style so, this is nothing new to me.”

The champion went on to say that people have claimed Romero is made of steel, so he would let him sink.

There is another factor that is being played in this fight. Romero has a wrestling background and won several medals in the Olympics.

That is something that Adesanya has to be wary of, but the Stylebender also provided a warning to his opponent:

“If he wants to wrestle with me, he is going to feel me on the back of his head.”

The 30-year-old added that he has been preparing for a long time to face Romero. The Cuban might have lost his last two bouts, but he is a dangerous opponent, something that Adesanya highlighted.
