Amanda Ribas is excited over her future in the UFC after defeating Paige VanZant
Brazilian MMA star Amanda Ribas picked up an impressive win over Paige VanZant at UFC 251.
She submitted her rival via an armbar and is looking forward to her next target. The 26-year-old has won all her four UFC fights and is considering who to face next.
She was speaking to Helen Yee after the fight and was asked who she was willing to fight next. Ribas was in fighting mood as she named three opponents who she was open to facing:
“I have some names. In 115 maybe the winner of Carly Esparza and Marina or another fight with Michelle Waterson. It has been great for me at 115 and maybe if they want me in 125 again, then someone in top 15.
“I don’t know, I am ambitious, I am asking.”
The Brazilian added that she was here to fight and loved to get into the Octagon.
While her clash against VanZant was her flyweight debut, she has spoken of fighting in the Strawweight division too.
Ribas claimed that fighting at 125 made her feel bigger and her punches were stronger too. However, she seems to be flexible on fighting in any of the two divisions and seems to be the next big star in the UFC.
The 26-year-old now holds a 10-1 record in her MMA career and her only loss came in Jungle Fight 83 against Polyana Viana.
She has then been on a five-fight win streak and it will be interesting to see what is next for her.
Ribas also predicted who would win between Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili. While she had some great words for Namajunas she backed Weili to get the job done.
