Henry Cejudo held the UFC Flyweight and Bantamweight titles at the same time
UFC star Henry Cejudo sounded confident ahead of his UFC 250 fight against the veteran Jose Aldo.
The 33-year-old American was a freestyle wrestler before making the move to MMA. Cejudo is an Olympic Gold medallist but his UFC career has been excellent too.
Cejudo was speaking to CBS sports and interrupted the interviewer to shout out what he thought of himself:
“The greatest combat athlete of all-time!”
Cejudo was also asked about moving up to featherweight and picking up another title, despite being short.
Cejudo claimed that he had a better shot at this and becoming a champion in a third-class over Irishman Conor McGregor.
“Why not? I can make history. Conor McGregor might get that third shot of fighting for that third belt but he’s not going to beat a big guy like Kamaru Usman.
“For me, I actually feel like I could do it.”
McGregor could move to Welterweight after holding two titles in different weight classes. However, Kamaru Usman is a tough character, and it will be difficult to beat him.
McGregor has also been looking to reclaim the Lightweight title which is currently held by Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Cejudo talks up Aldo
The champion was also told about some people questioning Aldo facing Cejudo for the title. However, the American wasn’t taking Aldo lightly, even though the challenger lost his last fight:
“He’s the No.1 contender, he’s a legend and I am fighting him in Brazil and that’s it. I am doing it for my Brazilian people.”
Aldo’s last fight was his debut in the Bantamweight division, and it will be interesting to see how UFC 250 goes.
All UFC fights till 249 have been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dana White was hopeful of things improving but is cautious ahead of UFC 249 next month.
