“I think Conor is going to end up waiting” – Dana White reveals Conor McGregor’s plans for next fight after UFC 249

Conor McGregor has been rumoured to face the winner of the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson fight at UFC 249

Dana White seemed a happy UFC president after the UFC 249 press conference featuring Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The pair almost came to blows in the meeting and that would have increased the interest for the clash in April.

However, there has been talk about who the winner of that fight could face. Conor McGregor, who lost to Khabib a year back, made a winning return to UFC by defeating Donald Cerrone.

The Irishman has openly said he wants to fight again soon, and CBS’ Brian Campbell posed a question about McGregor’s future to White:

“I honestly don’t know. We’ll have to see how things play out.

“I think Conor is going to end up waiting to see how this plays out and fight the winner.”

Khabib and Ferguson have been slated to meet several times in the past, and hopefully, this fight goes off without a hitch.

A huge match in the making

McGregor vs Khabib Round 2 could be the biggest UFC fight in the history of the promotion.

The pair have a lot of bad blood between them from the previous fight, and Khabib isn’t making any new friends with his antics against Ferguson.

However, Khabib winning against Ferguson isn’t a foregone conclusion. The American is one of the most dangerous men on the planet and could become the champion by beating the Russian.

That is a tough task for the American as Khabib is yet to lose a match in MMA. McGregor vs Ferguson might not have the same ring as McGregor vs Khabib, but that would be an excellent fight for the UFC too.
