Jon Jones defended his Light Heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion took offence to some comments made by rival Dominick Reyes recently.
Reyes and Jones met at UFC 247 but it was the champion that kept hold of his belt. The fight was a bit of a close one with some fans suggesting that Reyes should have picked up the title.
Jones also had some great moments in that fight, but the bitterness between the pair seems to be growing.
Reyes recently said that Jones didn’t want to get involved in another dogfight with him. The match did have some lusty blows, but it didn’t really resemble a scrap in the true sense.
Nevertheless, Jones came out fighting on Twitter and hit out at Reyes.
The champion highlighted that he walked Reyes around for 25 minutes and was ready for another go.
Jones also said that being a champion allows for more people to have a go at him, and it is true with Israel Adesanya also having a pop at the champion recently.
The 32-year-old is regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters in the history of the promotion.
Jones has a 26-1-1 record in the UFC, and even that loss came via a technicality. He has defended the title against most of the top stars in the division, and there seems to be no one who can take it off him.
However, the bad blood between Adesanya and Jones has been growing over recent months. The pair are in different divisions with Adesanya needing to move up a weight class if he wants to face Jones.
Adesanya is the current UFC Middleweight Champion, and a fight against Jones would be incredible.
The New Zealand-Nigerian star is undefeated in his MMA career too and last beat Yoel Romero to keep the title at UFC 248.
