Ian Garry is keen to replicate Conor Mcgregor’s career graph inside the UFC, and the ‘Notorious’ one is impressed
Conor McGregor delivered one of the most iconic line at the UFC Dublin post fight interview against Diego Brandao- ‘We are not here to take part, we’re here to take over’. Mcgregor went above and beyond everyone’s expectation, and emerged as the biggest superstar, not just in the UFC, but sports entertainment. Irish mixed martial artist Ian Garry is embarking on a similar path, much like his counterpart.
Ian Garry was part of the ‘International fight week’ card this past weekend, when he faced Gabe Green. Garry pretty much dominated the whole fight, and dropped Green with a powerful shot in the third round. Green was able to get back to his feet, and initiated a clinch. The Irish Man continued his onslaught on the feet, chopping the lead leg of his opponent, and tearing through his guard to land big shots.
In the end it was enough for him to score a unanimous decision victory, and and Garry improved his MMA record to 10-0. Impressed by his performance, Conor Mcgregor showered praises on the young Irish lad. He wrote, ‘Ian Garry was incredibly impressive this weekend. Fully immersed in it all. Enjoying every second. Willingness to engage / commit. The Potential for another “future” Irish mma ufc champion rose by a real nice margin this weekend. Congrats Ian, keep going brother!
Its obvious that Ian Garry draws inspiration from Mcgregor’s career in the UFC, and words of encouragement from the ‘Notorious’ one would go a long way in motivating him. Reacting to the praise, he even proposed the idea of bringing the UFC back to Dublin.
Garry wrote, ‘Thank You! The Take Over Part 2 continues to grow, I cannot wait for your return. Let’s bring the @ufc back to Dublin. It’s Inevitable. 🇮🇪 ☘️ 💚’
