Paddy Pimblett is undefeated in the UFC after his first two appearances but that’s not the interesting fact
The UFC seems to have another star in the making in Paddy Pimblett. The 27-year-old has garnered a lot of interest from the fans thanks to his trash talking, and well, he has backed it up in the Octagon.
The Baddy is currently on a four-fight win streak and has won his opening two UFC bouts. He made his debut for the promotion against Luigi Vendramini at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Till.
He defeated his rival in the first round before beating Rodrigo Vargas in March 2022, also in the first round.
An interesting stat has come up after Pimblett’s UFC wins with both his rivals being released by the UFC.
Now, Vendramini and Vargas weren’t the biggest names in Pimblett’s division. However, both being released does come as a bit of a surprise.
Is Paddy Pimblett the big deal?
While the UFC and the fans are doing their bit to hype Pimblett up, with some calling him the next Conor McGregor, the 27-year-old still needs to work a bit and reach a higher level.
The Englishman has three losses to his name with his most recently one coming against Soren Bak. However, that loss was in 2018, and he has not lost a single fight since that. In fact, Pimblett has finished all of his opponents since then, and all of those have been impressive.
The real test will come when he takes on a ranked opponent. The 27-year-old has fought unranked stars so far in the UFC. Should he beat two or three more names, including a ranked opponent, then there can be talk about Pimblett being the next McGregor.
