Coach Khabib Nurmagomedov will be heading to Bellator this weekend as fellow Dagestani brother Islam Mamedov takes on Brent Primus at Bellator 263
Coach Khabib Nurmagomedov will be back in action this weekend. He has got an important assignment at Bellator 263 coming up. Fellow Dagestani Islam Mamedov, and his own cousin Usman Nurmagomedov fight this weekend.
Mamedov takes on Brent Primus in a lightweight bout in the main card of Bellator 263.
The Russian has been on an impressive 18-fight win streak, and will be looking forward to dismantling the dangerous Primus, who has a win over Michael Chandler.
The Schmo recently caught up with Mamedov, following the latter’s Bellator 263 faceoffs. When asked about who pushes him harder at the American Kickboxing Academy in practice (Khabib or Islam Makhachev), Mamedov replied in an instant that it was Khabib.
He continued:
“Obviously Khabib. Khabib is not even training right now, he just goes to the gym to push us. So yeah, definitely Khabib.”
The Schmo then asked if coach Khabib Nurmagomedov would be in Islam Mamedov’s corner. Mamedov went on to confirm that Khabib would indeed be by his corner.
He was quoted as saying:
“Yes, obviously, as always Khabib will be in my corner, always trying to be in our corner every time. So yeah, you will see Khabib Nurmagomedov on Saturday.”
Khabib is currently 5-0 as a coach. He took up the same after announcing his retirement at UFC 254 last year. His most recent success as a coach, came in the main event of UFC Vegas 31, when his protege Islam Makhachev beat Thiago Moises via. submission in the fourth round.
